Which Crisps with Which Beer?

crisps-and-beerLooking for the perfect beer to enjoy with your favourite crisps?

Our beer expert Mark had a great tasting event during the week.  Mark picked out three beers to go with three different flavours of Keogh’s Crisps – Dubliner Cheese and Onion, Roast Beef and Irish Stout, and Atlantic Sea Salt and Irish Cider Vinegar.   All these products are currently on special offer at SuperValu Lucan (as of 22/10/16).

  1. toby-ciderKeogh’s Dubliner Cheese and Onion:  We’re cheating a little with this one.  Mark considers the nicest drink with these crisps to be Toby’s Handcrafted Cider.
  2. chimayKeogh’s Roast Beef and Irish Stout:   French beer Chimay Bluecap is a slightly different beer from Belgium.  “Chimay Blue Cap is a dark beer with a powerful aroma whose complex flavour improves as the years go by”.
  3. buriedatseaKeogh’s Atlantic Sea Salt and Irish Cider Vinegar:  Galway Bay Brewery’s Buried at Sea  Chocolate Milk Stout is another different beer that goes perfectly with Keogh’s strong salt and vinegar flavour.  This stout is “decadent and complex while remaining wholly refreshing and drinkable. [It] is brewed with Milk Sugars and Chocolate to give rich flavours and body that goes down smooth”.

Enjoy these combinations as part of our mix and match offers in our alcohol department.  Great for an enjoyable weekend evening.
